The 2003 Eppie Award Winner in Historicals

Red and White–at war in the world, and in her blood.

Born to a runaway Dutch teen and an Iroquois brave, raised in her white uncle’s frontier home, Genesee visits her mother’s family in colonial Albany. Here she meets a young Englishman and falls in love. He’s as much of an outcast as his “half-breed” girl, for Alexander was born “on the wrong side of the blanket”, and his only fortune is a good mind. Forbidden to marry, Genesee is sent home again, but when the Revolution sets the New York frontier ablaze, she is carried into captivity. In a Cayuga longhouse, she dreams of him, but will Alexander still want her–and will he brave torture and death to bring her home again?

Praise for Genesee

“GENESEE is an extraordinary book about love, hardship and prejudice. It’s well written and full of wonderful characters… This story isn’t sugarcoated, which is really refreshing.” – Renee Burnette

“This is a great read… Very vivid scenes and richly woven. This author is great!” – Karol A. Clifton, Amazon reader

“Romance that puts history up front! This is a real slice of history, with a heroine and her hero in 3-D.” – LJ Walker

Mozart’s Wife

02_Mozart's WifePublication Date: January 11, 2014
Books We Love, Ltd.
Formats: eBook, Paperback

Winner of the First Independent E-Book Award for Fiction Seventh Annual Virginia Festival of the Book

She Married the World’s First Superstar.

Mozart’s wife aroused strong feelings among her contemporaries. Her in-laws loathed her. Mozart’s friends, more than forty years after his death, remained eager to gossip about her “failures” as wife to the world’s first superstar. Maturing from child to wife to hard-headed widow, Konstanze paid her husband’s debts, provided for their children, and relentlessly marketed and mythologized Mozart. The composer’s letters attest to his affection for Konstanze as well as to their powerful sexual bond. Still, the question remains: Why did she never mark his grave?

Praise for Mozart’s Wife

“This is a multi-faceted novel which brilliantly joins the nomenclature of romantic and historical fiction. I would recommend this novel to lovers of music, lovers of history, and just plain lovers.” – Knowbetter.com

“Juliet Waldron brings Konstanze and her wayward genius of a spouse to vivid life. She avoids the pitfall of the biographical novelist by refusing to make either of them the villain, and her insights into character are extraordinary.” – Liz Burton, The Blue Iris Journal

“Mozart’s Wife is a story of love, jealousy, grief and most importantly–forgiveness. …Fast-paced; Ms. Waldron has exquisite, flowing prose. .. a must read” – Kim Murphy, Sime-Gen

“Waldron’s writing is humorous, erotic, and fluid…. Mozart’s Wife is a consuming piece that reminds us that all humans, regardless of talent or skill, are within the boundaries of fault and outside the lines of perfection. I highly recommend this wonderful book.” – Melissa Levine

Nightingale

03_NightingalePublication: June 5, 2013
Books We Love, Ltd.
Formats: eBook, Paperback

Her body belonged to the Count, but her heart yearned for true love.

18th Century Vienna was glamorous and corrupt, and the pathway to fame could not be trodden in innocence. Count Maximilian discovers Klara in a Nightingale Cage, an orphanage for the abandoned children of musicians. He educates her, fosters her remarkable vocal talent and initiates her into the art of love, intending to create the perfect mistress. The Count controls every aspect of Klara’s life, until Fate, in the form of handsome Akos Almassy, takes a hand. The tall, dark Magyar violinist can make beautiful music and healing potions, too, but can he rescue Klara from the Count—and live?

Praise for Nightingale

“As Klara is drawn deeper into love with Akos Almassy, the charismatic harpsichordist, she must come to a decision: chose her true love or stay with the twisted relationship, professional acclaim, and wealth she has with her patron…Much more than a romance, Nightingale offers a tantalizing view into the rarefied atmosphere of historical Vienna and the world of celebrity performers. It is part of Juliet Waldron’s trilogy of Viennese tales, so be sure to read Mozart’s Wife, and My Mozart…” – Judith Schara

“I was drawn into this tale by the lush prose, descriptions of clothing, jewelry, and details of Klara’s performances. Tension is maintained throughout as Klara fights to be free of her gilded cage. Waldron obviously knows her stuff when it comes to music and pure desire.” – Diane Scott Lewis

Formats: eBook, Paperback

Loyalty Binds Her.

More like a gangland war for turf and loot than chivalry, the War of Roses disrupted the life of the English commoners for hundreds of years. Roan Rose is the story of one of them, a girl born on the Yorkshire dales. When the Countess of Warwick decides to take sturdy, gentle Rose to Middleham Castle to be companion and bed-time poppet for her youngest daughter, Anne, her fate is changed forever. Rose bears intimate witness to the passions, betrayals, battles and all the reversals of fortune which will shape her lady’s life—and her own. Anne Neville will briefly become a Queen, and Richard, Rose’s secret love, will become a King, one whose name has become synonymous with evil. When her King is betrayed and slain at Bosworth Field, Rose returns to a peasant’s hard life. She has one final service to perform.

About the AuthorOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

“Not all who wander are lost.” Juliet Waldron earned a B. A. in English, but has worked at jobs ranging from artist’s model to brokerage. Thirty years ago, after the boys left home, she dropped out of 9-5 and began to write, hoping to create a genuine time travel experience for herself–and for her readers. She loves her grand-girls and her kitties, likes to take long hikes, and reads historical/archeological non-fiction as well as reviewing for the Historical Novel Society. For summer adventure, she rides behind her husband of 50 years on his “bucket list” (black, and ridiculously fast) Hyabusa motorcycle.
